Lammas
At Lammas we celebrate the first harvest, but the harvest is more than grain. It is every quiet change that has taken root beneath the surface of our lives. We live in a world that often expects immediate results, yet nature reminds us that growth has its own rhythm. Seeds germinate unseen. Trees add their rings one season at a time. Springs continue to flow whether anyone is watching or not. Perhaps that is Lammas' greatest lesson. We are not meant to force the seasons; we are meant to participate in them. Some of the hopes we planted months or even years ago may already be bearing fruit. Others are still quietly becoming. Both deserve our trust. Today, I simply pause to give thanks—for what has grown, for what is still growing, and for the patience to recognise the difference. The land keeps its promises in its own time. Perhaps we can learn to trust our own journey with the same quiet confidence.
